Chapter 11

Chapter 11, known as ‘‘reorganization,’’ is used by businesses and a few individuals whose debts are so large that they exceed the limits of a chapter 13.  Usually in a chapter 11 bankruptcy the debtor will continue to remain in possession of their assets and will continue to operate the business, subject to the oversight and jurisdiction of the court.
